An individual's body build is determined for the most part by genetic influences and therefore we may not be able to achieve the look we want through diet
and exercise alone. Today, through modern technology, many people are able to alter the shape of their bodies.
Breast ReductionThousands of women with
pain associated with large breasts are being helped through a surgical procedure called reduction mammaplasty or breast reduction. This surgery is designed to improve the body contour, reduce pain,
and make the individual more comfortable when engaging in physical activities. Now the patient can enjoy shopping for proper fitting clothes and the new image can increase self-confidence.
Breast reduction is usually performed in an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. Different surgical techniques may be used depending on the size of the breasts.
Pain connected with the procedure is minimal to moderate and is controlled with oral medication.
Breast Lift
Today, women who are disturbed by sagging or loose breasts as a result of pregnancy, weight loss or natural aging can be helped by remarkable surgical technique called
breast lift or mastopexy. This procedure is designed to elevate and reshape the breast. The size of the areola (the dark, pink skin circling the nipple) can also be reduced through this
procedure. Mastopexy is often performed in conjunction with surgery designed to enlarge the breasts.
Tummy TuckA protruding abdomen as a result of stretched skin and weak
abdominal muscles (due to weight gain or pregnancy) is a condition that causes distress to thousands of people. This condition does not respond well to diet or exercise because the
skin and underlying muscles have been stretched.
A procedure called abdominoplasty has been designed to flatten a protruding abdomen
through the tightening of abdominal wall muscles and removal of excess fatty tissue and skin.Abdominoplasty can be performed as an outpatient procedure. Pain or discomfort is usually
well controlled with oral medications. Bruising and swelling which occur around the treated area will disappear within a few weeks. Scars from the procedure fade significantly in time.
