Busting the Myths
Myth 1: The surgeon cannot position the implants properly with the TUBA method
This misconception may have arisen from seeing the results of inexperienced or untrained surgeons or rumors created by "armchair" surgeons who do not have any real knowledge of this procedure or the will to learn this procedure.
Myth 2: The breast implants must pass between the abdominal muscles or internal organs
The transumbilical procedure is entirely subcutaneous (under the skin) and superficial to the muscles of the abdominal wall and chest wall.
Myth 3: It is too difficult to work all the way up there from the bellybutton
The nifty instruments designed and adapted for this procedure by Dr. Zachariah makes it just as quick or quicker than the older methods. In fact the transumbilical method is safer because there is no actual sharp cutting of the tissues. The tissues are just stretched. There is very little blood loss from this procedure. The only sharp cutting is the skin incision in the belly-button.
